Enterprise Ireland is the Irish state development agency focused on transforming Irish industry. Encouraging and supporting new High Potential Start-up (HPSU) business is a key priority for Enterprise Ireland. The key criteria for meeting HPSU status are that the proposed product is technologically advanced, the business is likely to achieve significant growth within three years (sales of €1.0m and employment of 10 or more), projected sales have a heady export element, the business is Irish owned and located in Ireland.The Enterprise Ireland business development approach to developing solutions for its clients takes into account all areas of business activity from business strategy and innovation to marketing and includes the key area of finance and human resource development. Enterprise Ireland works in partnership with both well established and start-up companies to develop and build profitable sales and effective marketing capabilities using the network of overseas offices, over 31 locations worldwide. Enterprise Ireland offers a range of supports within its technology offer whatever the industry sector or research focus, including Growth Innovation, R&D funding for business, R&D Collaboration with third level and other companies and International Collaboration, Research Commercialisation and Technology Acquisition. Enterprise Ireland in conjunction with Invest Northern Ireland are currently running a one year Business Incubation Programme which is designed to provide ambitious entrepreneurs with the necessary business skills, expertise, contacts, networks and facilities when needed most.
