Letterkenny Chamber is the sole organiser of the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 17th. The event attracts thousands of people to Letterkenny and is a wonderful family day out.

The success of the Parade is also down to the generous contributions made by the local business community, without whom, it could not be possible.

The Parade, commenced at 3pm, preceded by family entertainment at Market Square. Speeches from our invited guests follow while awaiting the judges' decision on the Parade winners andin 2009 at the end of the parade bands and dancers returned to Market Square to entertain the crowds for another hour.

A great day out to celebrate.

There are various competition categories on the day of the Parade, normally including:

• Community
• Sports
• Youth
• Band
• Dance
• Carnival
  
  

Each category winner receives a hand carved plaque and the overall winning entry receives the Danny Doherty Perpetual Plaque plus a cheque for €500.
